Miraculous Ladybug Season 1 Episode 12 Darkblade

Marinette jumps down from the balcony into her room and immediately transforms from Ladybug. Nadja Chamack is on Marinette’s computer, news of Ladybug and Cat Noir saving the day. Marinette pulls out a pink box and prompts Tikki to ask about it. Marinette explains that it will hold her journal, which contains all of her secrets as Ladybug. Marinette puts the journal in the box with the lid open and tells Tikki to try to get it out. Tikki flies down and picks up the edge. Before she could fly out, the lid slams shut, locking her inside. Marinette lets her out with the key.

Moving on to more news, Nadja Chamacková reports that André Bourgeois was re-elected mayor of Paris for the fourth time the previous day. Marinette, seeing Chloé’s attitude on the news footage, comments that Chloé is acting like she’s been re-elected. This comment causes Marinette to remember that the next day is the class representative election at Collège Françoise Dupont and that Chloé is in the game. Tikki suggests that Marinette run too, but Marinette feels like she has too much to do between homework and saving Paris. The message returns, bringing with it the face of Armand D’argencourt, the defeated candidate who is also a fencing instructor at the Collège. Marinette puts her hand on her chin and watches the report until she sees the time 8:44 in the corner, knowing she’ll be late for school if she stays any longer.

In Miss Bustier’s classroom, Chloé and Sabrina stand in front of the students. Chloé is running with Sabrina as her running mate. Just then Marinette runs in, her excuse is that she missed the bus and has a cold. Alya brings Marinette up to speed and mentions that Chloé has been class representative since elementary school. Miss Bustier dismisses them for lunch and leaves the class to think about their decision. In the schoolyard, Chloé uses threats to dissuade Kim from participating in the class representative contest and leaves with Sabrina to threaten the rest of the class. When Marinette asks Alix what Chloé told her, Alix mentions that she doesn’t care and wonders why Marinette doesn’t run away. Marinette claims again that she’s too busy to run, but then gives up that she’ll run if no one else is. Back in the classroom, Miss Bustier asks if anyone else wants to run against Chloe and Sabrina. Finding no opposition, Miss Bustier almost declares Chloé and Sabrina as class representatives, but Marinette intervenes and says she will enter the race. An excited Miss Bustier tells Marinette that the next day the candidates will be giving speeches and the students will be able to vote.

During the break, Alya tries to help Marinette come up with a campaign platform. Marinette realizes that she hasn’t put much thought into how to run the campaign, but is approached by Rose, Juleka, and Nino, who give her plenty of ideas. Alya spots Adrien coming down the stairs and asks him if he will vote for Marinette. Adrien replies yes if he gives a good speech, further motivating Marinette. Just a few meters away, Chloé and Sabrina watch the scene, and Chloé explains to Sabrina that according to her father, the best way to win a political race is to destroy the opposition’s reputation and expose their secrets.

Back in her room, Marinette lists what her classmates want for their journal and tries to come up with her speech. Marinette’s cell phone buzzes and when Marinette picks it up, she sees Alya looking angry. Alya explains that Chloé invited the entire class to the Hôtel de Ville to meet the Jagged Stone. Marinette is excited because Jagged Stone is her favorite singer, but quickly realizes that Chloé is buying her classmates’ votes with autographs. Marinette leaves her room, leaving the journal box open on the desk.

As Marinette runs out of the bakery, Sabrina goes around the corner and talks to Chloé on the phone. Walking past the customers Sabine is waiting on, Sabrina claims she needs to pick up the math book that Marinette borrowed from her. Sabine explains that Marinette just left and sends Sabrina upstairs to Marinette’s room.

During swordsmanship class, Adrien is sidetracked by a remarkable attack from his trainer, Mr. D’Argencourt, who reveals that the move was developed by his Darkblade ancestor. D’Argencourt then explains how his ancestor once conquered Paris and ruled it with an iron fist, only to be overthrown by a wealthy Frenchman. Nadja Chamacková appears behind him and asks him if the story of his ancestor motivated him to participate in the elections. Enraged, Mr. D’Argencourt ends Adrien’s lesson and storms off. Sensing Mr. D’Argencourt’s frustration, Hawk Moth sends an akuma after him.

As Mr. D’Argencourt leaves the school, Nadja and her cameraman follow him and get footage for the news. When Mr. D’Argencourt comes across a poster of Mayor Bourgeois, he angrily rips it to pieces, surprising the news crew behind him. Akuma then arrives and possesses his fencing sword. Hawk Moth offers D’Argencourt a chance to become the new ruler of the city and akumatizes him into the supervillain Darkblade, who turns Nadja and her cameraman into knights. He declares that he will raise an army, take over City Hall, and reclaim his family’s throne. Adrien sees Darkblade still turning citizens into knights, so he transforms into Cat Noir. Darkblade and Cat Noir stand up and start fighting.
