 The episode begins at Liberty, where members of the Kitty Section are rehearsing. After the exams are over, Luka asks everyone why Marinette wasn't there and if she's okay. Alya tells him that Marinette was fine, but she was a little busy. Luka tries to say that they can tell him the truth and acknowledges that Marinette knows he still loves her. Rose apologizes and says that Marinette had water pony classes at the time. Luka then leaves. Everyone stares at Rose as Alya sarcastically claps at her. Rose tries to explain that she "couldn't tell the truth because it would break his heart, Marinette feels awkward in front of him," and they need to make it right. Mylène says she has to figure out a way for Marinette and Luka to be together again, at least as friends. They conspired together about where Marinette and Luka should meet. Zoé suggests where Marinette needs to go. Ivan and Nino suggest a place where they have to talk. Alya then suggests that instead of the movie theater they went to on Saturday with the intention of watching the Rock and Monster Parade, they can cancel it and have a boat party for Juleka and Luka's birthday instead. Everyone agrees with her and sets a task for the party accordingly.

Since Alya has decided to bring Marinette to the party, Alya talks to Marinette in her room about inviting her to Jules' birthday with the original movie schedule. Unbeknownst to Marinette, Alya tricks Marinette into believing that it's just Jules' birthday, even though the Couffain siblings are twins. Marinette falls for it at first, but quickly realizes that Alya tricked her into going to the party when they reach the ship. Alya explains to Marinette that she is wrong about Luke and that everything will be fine. He also says they can be friends if they can't be together. Marinette reminds Alya that she knows he's in love with her, but she loves Adrien, and every time they see each other, they end up getting hurt because they know they'll never be the same. Alya scolds her for overdoing it a bit, but Marinette keeps reminding her that Luka has already been akumatized twice because of her and she feels bad about it. Alya says that since Marinette can create magic spells like Ladybug, everything will be fine and they can try to be friends again, insisting that she has to because it's her duty. Marinette agrees, but deep down she doesn't want to see Luke or be his friend. At Collège Françoise Dupont, Marinette hides behind a trash can and runs to Juleca. She says that Alya insisted she come to the party, but she knows Luka will be there and she doesn't want to see him. She then asks Juleka if she could arrange for Luka to "not be there" as she wants to avoid being akumatized on her birthday. Juleka tells Marinette that she would do what she could. Marinette happily thanks her in advance, hugs her and runs off.

At Liberty, a nervous Juleka starts trying to tell Luke that Marinette is coming to their birthday party, but she doesn't want him there. However, once he says that Marinette is coming, he is excited and happy about it. Juleka nervously stops the conversation. Luka senses that Juleka is sad, but is interrupted by a knock on their window. Luka doesn't know, he feels guilty because Luka gets involved in the party. When Luka opens the window, Jagged Stone enters their room. He originally wanted to meet Luka. The two discuss music. Juleka greets, but is not noticed. Luka and Jagged continue to talk, but Anarka Couffaine angrily interrupts them, stating that she doesn't want an outsider (Jagged Stone) on the ship, especially without the captain's permission. Luka asks Anarka if Jagged can come to their birthday party, to which Anarka replies only if Juleka agrees. Jagged is surprised to see Juleka outside the window and apologizes for not seeing her there. Anarka asks Juleka if she wants him at the party, to which Juleka agrees because she wants him there. Zubaty leaves triumphantly. Meanwhile, Juleka takes two calls: one from Alya with Rose, Alix, and Mylène asking if Luka will be at the party, and one from Marinette asking if Luka won't be there. Juleka is really confused and very upset because of the guilt she has for not telling Luke about what Marinette told her.

Alya arrives at Liberty with Marinette, Nino, Rose, Mylène and Zoé. Alya admits to Marinette that she was very impressed to come there and tells Marinette that she didn't think Marinette would come calmly and meet Luka and says that Marinette is brave. Unknown to Alya, Marinette actually thinks Luka isn't at the party because she asked Juleka to tell him to go somewhere else. Marinette says that it's important to grow up and overcome things in life, then secretly whispers to Juleca, asking if she really did what she was asked to do. Then she sees Luka playing the guitar and is completely amazed. Luka greets Marinette, but Marinette runs off saying she has to do something very urgent. Marinette accidentally jumps into the ship from the roof while running, moaning and telling everyone she's fine. Juleka feels very guilty about the situation. Everyone starts asking about Marinette and Julek runs away from the group in tears. In response, Luka says that he knew that Marinette doesn't like him anymore, that she doesn't even want to be friends, which Juleka didn't have the courage to tell him earlier. Luka sits down sadly and starts playing sad music with a guitar.

Shadow Moth feels the emotions of Luke, bitterly disappointed and longing for friendship with his last beloved back. Shadow Moth corrupts the butterfly into an akuma and commands it to fly and anger him, but the akuma was no longer able to akumatize him as everyone calmed and comforted Luka. Shadow Moth seems a little worried and disappointed when he notices that the negative emotions are gone and orders his akum to stay there, saying that a party with teenagers always has a lot of emotions. Meanwhile, Juleka, worried, walks into Liberty and notices Marinette hiding behind the counter. Juleka comes to her. When Marinette asks why Luka is here, Juleka is sadly silent. Marinette sees Juleka's sadness and realizes that Juleka couldn't bring herself to tell him to leave. Shadow Moth senses Juleka's emotions and tries to akumatize her. Before he can, Marinette relieves Jules by apologizing for stressing her out over something that is almost impossible for her to handle and hugs her. Akuma was once again unable to akumatize Juleka as her negative emotions were erased, much to Shadow Moth's disappointment.
