 Ladybug and Cat Noir try to pull a large ship out of the Seine using their yo-ya and staff. In the midst of this, Ladybug asks Cat Noir if he's in love. Cat Noir says he is. Ladybug then asks if his crush loves Cat Noir. He says she believes. Ladybug expresses her joy at his situation. Two superheroes pull a large ship out of the Seine. Ladybug and Cat Noir jump from the Eiffel Tower. Cat Noir asks Ladybug the same question. Ladybug responds with a similar answer. He catches a bird call from a giant human structure climbing the Eiffel Tower and throws the bird call at Cat Noir, who catches it and Cataclysms, releasing the megacum. Ladybug captures the megakum and the heroes land safely, catching Mr. Pigeon as he is deakumatized, Ladybug releases the purified megakum, and Cat Noir captures Mr. Ramier. Ladybug casts her lucky charm using her Miraculous Ladybug. In the Jardins du Trocadéro, Cat Noir expresses his happiness at both his situation and Ladybug's. He pounds on it and Cat Noir leaves. In the absence of her partner, Beruščina's face falls. Marinette, now in her house, tells Alya about her ease of conversation with Cat Noir and the difficulty of her conversation with Adrien. Marinette calls Kagami, but he declines due to her lack of progress with Adrien. Kagami calls Marinette again, she hangs up again, reasoning that she'll call her back after she talks to Adrien, which she thinks she's incapable of doing and Kagami either never calls back, or when she's older and erased from Kagami's mind. Marinette asks if she is a bad friend to Kagami. Finally able to speak, Alya assures her best friend that she is able to confess her feelings to her love with the help of her friends.

In François Dupont's art room, Nathaniel and Marc have Marinette and Adrien set up under the guise of helping them with their story. Adrien asks Marinette to hold his hand, she tries but her nerves get the better of her and she ruins part of the set. Nathaniel and Marc move on to their next plan. At Philippe's rink, Philippe tries to help but sends Adrien and Marinette crashing into the walls of his rink. Nathaniel and Marc switch to another plan. At François Dupont, Miss Bustier's class participates in an empathetic listening activity. The goal is to sit on the mat opposite your partner, take his hands and express your feelings to him. Marinette tries to sit across from Adrien, but Chloé stops her and takes her place. Alya defends her friend's place, but Chloé refuses to back down. That is until Lila drags her to the opposite mat, loudly debating that Marinette should be allowed to sit where she pleases, while whispering to Chloé her intentions to make life miserable for their mutual enemy. Delighted, Chloé declares Lila her new best friend, much to Sabrina's anger. Marinette manages to send the pad towards Alya and the bowl rolls away. Nathaniel turns his sketchbook to the next page for another plan, but the page is blank.

In her room, Marinette practices confessing to Adrien by attempting to confess to her dummy with a picture of Adrien pinned to its head. He can't finish the sentence properly, so he takes the picture down. He confesses flawlessly. He reattachs the picture of Adrien and tries again but can't do it. Marinette calls Kagami; he refuses, fearing that Kagami will be disappointed by not knowing. Marinette is still trying to confess and Tikki encourages her. After what had most likely been hours and a day nearing sunset, Marinette is red in the face and still struggling to articulate her feelings. Kagami calls again, prompting Tikki to suggest Marinette answer her friend as she might be able to help. Marinette then comes up with her "brilliant" solution: a picture of a cow. To complete her confession, she uses a picture of a cow, which she makes herself say "moo" to complete her confession. She picks up the phone to inform Kagami of her plan, but an alarm goes off on her phone due to the Kitty Section concert she is attending. Marinette rushes out of her room to get there.

In Couffain's houseboat Liberty, Adrien tells Luke about the love song he wrote for Marinette. Luka praises his song and suggests Kitty Section to play it. Rose exclaims that Adrien wrote a love song to everyone on Liberty, they all decide to play their part in having their friend serenade his feelings for Marinette. Kagami approaches Liberty in Tatsu and reads a piece of paper. When Tatsu informs her that she has arrived at her destination, he folds her in half. Kagami walks onto the ship in the middle of his friend's plans. Several of them suggest that she help. Alya tells Kagami about the upcoming performance of Adrien's love song. He expresses relief to see Marinette and her approval of Adrien's advances. Alya uses her Alliance to summon Marinette, who appears almost immediately and charges towards Liberty, spewing her supposed readiness. Kagami's presence catches her by surprise. Kagami tries to ask Marinette a question, but she runs away, saying she has to do something. Adrien welcomes Kagami, who again expresses her pride in Adrien for his intentions to confess his love to him.

Inside Liberty, Marinette practices her declaration of love to Adrien with a picture of the former and a picture of a cow. She happily runs back on board just in time for the Kitty Section to perform Adrien's love song with Max, Nino and Zoé on backing vocals. As the song comes to an end, a pink spotlight shines on Marinette. She tries to finally confess to Adrien, but panics and runs to get her photos. Kagami tries to go to her friend, but Alya tells her that she can do it because she's her best friend, and goes to her. Kagami pulls out his piece of paper and checks the box on it. Marinette explains her original plan to Alya, who comforts her. The conversation then shifts to her life as Ladybug. Alya tries to tell her to stop making excuses, but Marinette warns her that Kagami is behind her. Alya tells Kagami that she has to deal with something before she returns. Kagami leaves and checks off the last box on the paper. Alya tells Marinette that her alter ego isn't blocking her love life, Marinette brushes it off. She transforms into Ladybug and rolls up the window, Ayla watches her friend leave worriedly.

Downtrodden, Kagami talks to Lila through her Alliance about the friendship test Lila gave Kagami. A test that supposedly tells if a friend is really a friend. Marinette just happened to check all the boxes. Lila expresses her disapproval of Marinette allegedly ignoring Kagami's efforts to get closer to Marinette.
